Cultural festival

It was time to get on the bus. The bus that takes us to the cultural festival. On the way I was thinking. Thinking about how I'm going to do this. We arrived at the stadium and it was cold. Dark and cold. We went inside straight away because we were the first performers. It was also cold and inside. But it wasn't dark. We had to get into our lines before we walked back stage. Everybody was talking so we weren't allowed to go until we were. We were back stage and ready to go on. The hosts came out and started the show. They started talking about us. It was a queue for us to go on stage. We started walking on stage, bright lights shining down on us. Our lines were a bit messy but we sorted them out. We performed great. After we got off stage we walked up the stairs, sat down and watched the rest of the show.

Tessellation

This is my tessellation.

A tessellation is shapes/a shape that you can translate to make a repeating pattern with no gaps.
I only used one shape that is a triangle.
My shapes have been tessellated by translating and reflecting.

Antarctica tourism

Some people believe tourism in Antarctica should be allowed but others believe not. Once you have read this you will be able to make up your mind.

Tourists go to Antarctica to see the amazing wildlife. It's the only place in the entire world they will be able to see the animals that live there other than museums. If tourists have the time and money they should be allowed to visit Antarctica but they must follow the rules.

Trips to Antarctica are very expensive. Expensive trips attract very responsible tourists. Responsible tourists are more likely to follow the rules.
People believe that tourists should be able to go to Antarctica for the trip of a life time.

However others believe that you shouldn't be able to go to Antarctica. They believe that going there could upset the breeding of the wildlife. If the animals don't breed they could die of over the years. That would be bad.

Also if tourists were allowed to travel to Antarctica where would they stay? They would have to stay in hotels. Building the hotels could cause pollution and destroy Antarctica.

In conclusion the debate about tourism in Antarctica is going to continue for a very long time. I believe that tourism shouldn't be allowed in Antarctica because its a unique place that needs to be protected. So, have you made up your mind?

My hopes and dreams

My flag symbolises the army Air Force sticker, kiwis fly. I chose this design while I was thinking of what to draw when I saw the sticker. The best part of my flag is that it is an army sticker and my dad is in the army. Unfortunately my dad isn't in the Air Force. If I did it again I would use a thinner brush so people could actually read the words. I would also add a tiny bit more detail.

This was my second one. It is a rugby ball leaning on a mug of beer. I did the rugby ball and because rugby is my favourite sport and the beer symbolises people watching the rugby at the pub. The best part of this flag is that one day I wish to be an All Black. Next time I would add a clothes line in the background with rugby jerseys hanging on it.

My hopes and dreams flag

My flag symbolises the army Air Force sticker, Kiwis fly. I chose this design because while I was thinking of what to draw I saw the sticker of it. I changed it a little bit and stuck with it. The best part about my painting is that it is an army sticker and dad is in the army but unfortunately my dad isn't in the Air Force.
If I did this again I would use a thinner brush so people can actually read the writing. I would also add a tiny bit more detail.

tama's term 1 goals reflection

1.  To use a wider range of vocabulary in my writing:

I used a thesaurus when editing my writing.
Use exciting words in my writing.
Replace boring words.
Change words that I have heaps of to different words.

2.  To learn the correct order of operations and apply it:

I have done nothing towards achieving this goal.

3.  Being responsible for my belongings especially clothing:

Remember where my clothes are.
Bring my clothing in after playtime.
Put my clothing inside my bag.
Hang up vest and hat.

I have achieved my first and last goal but I will still have to work on my second goal in term 2.

Mufti Poster

It was a nice sunny day while Jacob and I were finishing of our Mufti day poster. It was the last day to finish it so me and Jacob had to work fast.

We did most of it the day before so we didn't have to do much like colouring in and going around the letters with a black pen to make it bold. After we were finished we went and photocopied eight posters to stick on the classroom doors. We had an extra so we put it on the notice board.

In the end our poster looked great and we raised $240.80c.

My interesting life

Hi, my name is Tamati and welcome to my interesting life.
My date of birth is March 19 2002. I have 2 siblings named Hamuera and Olivia. My parents names are Dion and Frances. When I was a young boy in my 3s I went to a kindergarten in a place called Omakau and that was were I met my best friend named Jonathan Taylor. We stuck up for each other a lot for example when I got hurt he would beat up the person who hurt me and I would do the same. We also went to primary together which was cool but then my dad joined the army so we had to move to Christchurch, Burnham when It was 8 so dad didn't have to keep going away.
When we got to Burnham  we started unpacking. I shared a room with my brother at the start but then I got my own room. Then came school. I started in room 5 with a teacher named Miss Shepard. She was really nice if you were good but sometimes she was in a bad mood. In room 5 I met an awesome friend named Tradyn. My hobbies are rugby, Dutch handball and video games. For Christmas last year I got an Xbox 360 and some pretty cool games and that's how I started to love video games but I
